Xiamen International Animation Festival is sponsored by Xiamen Municipal People’s Government and co-organized by ASIFA-CHINA. Since its inaugural edition in 2008, the festival remains committed to promoting quality animation works, discovering talents, encouraging the application of animation technologies in various industries, and boosting international exchange and collaborations.

“The Cyber Sousa Award” competition, one of its major events, continues to improve itself through active learning from the prestigious international animation competitions over the past 15 years. It has become the most influential animation competition in China. It is the only animation competition in China recognized by ASIFA.

The year 2024 marks the 16th edition of the festival and the Cyber Sousa Award competition. With the improved process and system, especially a complete set of evaluation criteria featuring professionalism, fairness and transparency, the 16th Xiamen Animation Festival will continuously promote both domestic and international original animated films, tap into emerging talents, and ensure the healthy and sustainable development of the animation industry.
